Tamara K.E., Rusudan Khizanishvili, Uta Bekaia

For TAF-Tbilisi Art Fair, Window Project presents artworks by Tamara K.E., Rusudan Khizanishvili and Uta Bekaia. The intense interest in an uncertain, surreal and sometimes utopian future and the search for an appropriate language for the upcoming reality is the general concept that brings together the works of two women and a Queer artist in one setting. Tamara K.E.'s symbolic strength of vocabulary in the drawing series "End of the Fringe" is vast -it manifests itself in a large variety of bizarre speech figures, it touches the depth of the human soul unveiling its long-kept secrets, and gives us the main vectors to trace "unknown future". In her painting series "Of Goddesses and Women", Rusudan Khizanishvili bridges a gap between past and future, defining a new tradition. Here, the traditional motherly archetype is clashing with a wilful woman, who is powerful, and might be manipulative yet is present. The women we see are actively involved in their spectacles, invested in the outcomes. Uta Bekaia's soft sculpture is a part of his ongoing multimedia project, "Sea, Sea, Swallow Me". The project is based on the narrative written by the artist. It tells a story where people change their path artificially by triggering a fabricated apocalypse with seven explosions. After this, humans mutate and become Super-Humans, fully expanding their consciousness. Bekaia's work is a speculative recreation of his ancestral rituals restaged for Queer utopian future.
